Korean singer BoA is on track to become the youngest Asian star ever to break the 10 million mark in album sales. She just released her 18th single “Everlasting”, and if past performance is any indicator of future results, she will be going down into the record books very soon. Not taking anything for granted, she’s currently doing one of her most aggressive media blitzes ever, and continues to believe in good old fashioned hard work.

BoA to break 10 million in album sales
Monday, February 13th, 2006Korean pop star Rain sells out Madison Square Garden
Monday, February 13th, 2006I’ve been mentioning Korean singer Rain a lot lately, and it’s no surprise that he’s been making headlines on other media outlets as well. The ultra influential New York Times, recently ran a piece about the artist right before his early February shows at Madison Square Garden. They called him the Korean Justin Timberlake, but I think Rain deserves a bit more credit than that. A Korean pop star filling Madison Square Garden for 2 consecutive nights is quite an accomplishment and nothing short of astounding.
Gackt's new found love for Asian languages
Monday, February 13th, 2006The Asian music boom is spreading rapidly throughout the region, and many of it’s pop artists are taking notice. During a recent visit to Korea, Japanese star Gackt surprised several reporters by carrying out many of his interviews in Korean. Asked about his new found enthusiasm for Asian languages, Gackt said that he planned to focus a good deal more of his future energy promoting and touring in other parts of Asia, and wants to have a good grasp of those countries languages, so he can better communicate with reporters and fans while abroad.
Eric of Shinhwa, injured on Korean Drama set
Monday, February 13th, 2006Eric, member of the Korean band Shinhwa, is in the news again this month after he was injured on the set of his mini series “Wolf.” Witnesses say that after a stunt car ran out of control towards himself and co-star Han Ji-min, Eric instinctively shielded her with his body, making the injuries much more severe than they should have been. He’ll be alright, but the production company is scrambling to find something to use as filler, as the seasons fourth episode can’t be filmed and broadcasted until his cast is removed and he is out of physical therapy.
