The Lee Hyori comeback performance on SBS recently, was a huge boost for the network. After being missing in action for several months, Lee Hyori put on one of the best shows of her career, giving the network an almost 40% jump in TV ratings leading up to, and during, the Feb 12th performance. Not only does she seem to be helping TV stations of late, but some feel the Korean economy as well. Asian news media has been reporting on what they term the “Lee Hyori effect”, with retail stores claiming that the Korean pop princess has such influence on teen fashion, that they can’t keep anything she’s been seen wearing in stock.
