Before Korean singer Rain embarks on his next multi-city tour, he’s decided to give a little back to his homeland. He will be offering the first show of his World tour for the incredible low price of–free. And this will be no ordinary tour, he’s bringing in several top industry heavy weights, to choreograph and direct every aspect of the show. Yoshiki composing songs for upcoming horror film

Japanese musician Yoshiki, of X-Japan fame, is rumored to be working on a few songs for an upcoming horror movie entitled “Catacombs”. The movie is set in an underground cemetery, just like the real ones so notorious beneath the Paris city streets. Although, not usually a horror fan himself, Yoshiki agreed to work on the project based on his respect for producer Gregg Hoffman’s previous work and his artistic vision for the film. Yoshiki is said to be working with a vocalist from his long awaited ‘Violet Uk’ album, and here’s to hoping we’ll be seeing more from this most gifted and prolific Asian artist.

Asian pop newcomer Zhang Li Yin's 'Timeless' debut

I recently reported on Chinese newcomer Zhang Li Yin’s upcoming music debut, and was pleasantly surprised to see her first release do so well. The single “Timeless”, was downloaded an incredible 500,000 times in just a few hours, and it looks like all the hard work SM Entertainment has put into the young pop star, is starting to pay off. Don’t think that the SM execs will be taking anything for granted, however, they continue to aggressively promote her throughout Asia, and you can bet that the next several releases will probably do even better.

The Youtube video doesn’t really do the performance justice–he really had the crowd going. He walked away with a specially designed Finnish guitar and amplifier, donated by Brian May of the British rock group Queen. But more importantly, being part of a story that is sure to be circulating Japan for many months into the future..
