Japanese singer Koda Kumi accomplished an amazing feat by releasing a whopping 12 different singles in 12 weeks, and at the same time, making the top 10 on Oricon for each and every one. I don’t know if any records were broken, but it’s most certainly an accomplishment not to be surpassed any time in the near future.

Congratulations to Koda Kumi for being voted “Most Popular Artist” on Oricon’s Top 20 website for 2005. The poll was the result of over 15,000 Asian music fans who voted for the Japanese pop artist they felt was most influential in music, fashion, and lifestyle, throughout the country.
Koda Kumi recently confirmed the long standing rumors that she’s in a serious relationship. She told reporters at a recent press conference, that contrary to popular belief, she’s just as determined in love and relationships as she is about her career. She went on to say that she works extra hard on her stage performances, not just for her many fans, but to impress her boyfriend as well.
What could be a more interesting night out than at a Japanese pop star’s nightclub? That just might be possible, as Koda Kumi is standing by an earlier promise to open a club in Tokyo, if her current greatest hits album sells over 1 million copies. Fortunately for her, the album is selling like hotcakes, and stands poised to reach those figures any day now. Word is circulating, that she’s making plans to open a club in the Ginza district of Tokyo sometime after her current tour finishes. Open for only one night, it is rumored to have Koda hosting the club alongside a horde of Koda Kumi look-alike’s.
Koda Kumi’s record label Avex Trax created quite a frenzy recently after having organized a photo shoot in a high traffic pedestrian area near Shibuya station. Koda got plenty of attention for being a famous Japanese pop star of course, but according to reports, her sexy wardrobe contributed quite a bit to the excitement as well.
